  • Tag 1

    Tromsø, Norway

Welcome to Norway. Your voyage begins in Tromsø, a remote outpost that sits 350km above the Arctic Circle. You’ll be warmly welcomed on board Scenic Eclipse by your Captain, crew and Discovery Team before setting sail for the journey of a lifetime.

With only up to 228 guests on board, you’re about to experience an immersive, engaging and intimate voyage through this fascinating part of Northern Europe. Ask the butler to bring a glass of Champagne to your suite and toast the start of your journey from your private verandah.

Please book your flight to arrive into Tromso prior to 02:00 PM.

  • Tag 2

Cruising North Cape (Nordkapp) > Skarsvåg

Stand on the spacious Observation Deck or grab one of the sun lounges beside the Sky Bar this morning for a remarkable sight as you sail past Nordkapp, or North Cape, soaring 307m from the sea. This is the northernmost point of Europe, where the sun doesn’t set for up to three months over summer. Scenic Eclipse will spend the night in nearby Skarsvag, a tiny village home to just 60 people, so you can experience the magic of the Midnight Sun.

This is also a good time to begin learning more about Norwegian history, culture and the magnificent fjords you will soon be sailing through in an engaging lecture in the state-of-the-art theatre with one of the Discovery Team experts.

    Freechoice:
King Crab Safari: Catch and savour the renowned King Crab at Sarnes Lavvo Camp, followed by a delicious meal prepared on-site.

Tour to North Cape: Experience the rugged beauty of Magerøy Island on a journey to North Cape. Explore North Cape Hall and enjoy panoramic views, weather permitting.

  • Tag 3

    At sea > Harstad

After enjoying a late night under the Midnight Sun, you might be feeling a little sleepy this morning. Spend some extra time in your signature Scenic Slumber Bed as the ship begins to sail back along the Norwegian coastline. You may ask the butler to bring a mid-morning coffee to your suite to enjoy on your private verandah.

This evening, stand on the Sky Deck with a drink in hand as you sail into Harstad, located on Norway’s largest island. An overnight stay in this charming small town offers the incredible opportunity for an after-dinner stroll through its historic centre in daylight. You’re still in the land of the Midnight Sun, and the Swiss chalet-style cottages and Art Nouveau buildings will be bathed in a warm dusky light.

  • Tag 4

    Harstad, Norway > At sea

Surrounded by forests, mountains and fjords, Harstad is a destination that is largely undiscovered by tourists. This morning, explore the stunning Trondenes Peninsula, within walking distance of the town centre. Once the domain of powerful Viking chiefs, it’s home to the northernmost stone church in Norway, dating back to the Middle Ages.

Back on board Scenic Eclipse, enjoy little luxuries in big places – sip Champagne as whales glide by or spot migrating sea birds over coffee on your private verandah.

    Freechoice:
Fishing Trip: Board the MK Viken for a crab-catching adventure in Vågsfjord. Enjoy a delicious meal afterward at Sarnes Lavvo Camp.

Harstad Panorama: Embark on a scenic journey through Harstad, followed by a visit to Trondenes. Explore North Cape Hall and then stop at Nupen for a panoramic vista. Visit Kasfjord City, a captivating miniature wonderland.

Highlights of Harstad: Discover the rich heritage of Trondenes Peninsula, including Trondenes Church and the Historical Centre. Witness the world's largest land-based gun from World War II, built in 1943.

Hike Gansaas: Hike to Gangsåstoppen summit for stunning views of Harstad city and enjoy Norwegian delicacies by the fire.

Stand back and admire the cascading bridal veil falls and hear why it was nicknamed 'the thunder'. You can glide ashore on a Zodiac or explore on foot, getting up close to this series of seven waterfalls reaching a height of 100 metres.
