The Kent Island Group forms Tasmania’s northernmost national park, protecting a remote cluster of islands and surrounding marine environment. King Island sits in the heart of Bass Strait, between Victoria and Tasmania’s northwest coast. Renowned for its quiet charm, expansive beaches, and dramatic coastal cliffs, the island blends natural beauty with a rich sense of history. Explore historic lighthouses, admire rugged seascapes, and observe the distinctive wildlife, from seabirds to native marsupials. Enjoy a final leisurely morning on board, perhaps with breakfast served by your butler as views of kunanyi (Mount Wellington) rise beyond the harbour. After bidding farewell to the crew, step ashore and continue your journey on land. Check in for a two-night Scenic Special Stay at a boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Today you'll depart Hobart for the breathtaking Freycinet National Park. Along the way you'll stop in Richmond and see the Richmond Bridge. Built by convict labourers in 1825, it's the oldest stone arch bridge in Australia.
Check in to your luxurious suite at Saffire with private deck, generous bath, rain shower and premium Tasmanian minibar. In the afternoon, join the Connection to Country walk with Indigenous guide Mick Quilliam, learning about the Oyster Bay people, bush tucker and coastal landscapes. Savour one last sunrise and breakfast before your luggage is collected. Board Saffire’s private vessel for the Wildlife & Wilderness Cruise, exploring Freycinet’s sea cliffs, coves and islands while looking for dolphins, seals, sea eagles and seasonal whales. Return to the lodge, bid farewell to the Hazards and Great Oyster Bay, then depart Saffire to travel back to Hobart for your onward journey.
