Arrive in Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city, nestled on the edge of the Beagle Channel. Take time to explore the charming town, visit local museums, or hike in the nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park. In the late afternoon, board the Terra Nova Expeditions meet your Expedition Team, and attend a safety briefing. As the ship sets sail, enjoy the scenic passage through the Beagle Channel, watching for Magellanic penguins, cormorants, and sea lions.
Navigate the legendary Drake Passage, the body of water connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans between South America and Antarctica. During these days at sea, the Expedition Team will offer engaging presentations on Antarctic wildlife, history, and geology. Keep an eye on deck for albatrosses, petrels, and the occasional whale sighting.
We continue to cross the Drake Passage, and hope to see dry land by nightfall around the South Shetland Islands.
Upon reaching the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands, the true exploration begins. Each day, you'll embark on Zodiac excursions to land on remote shores, witnessing towering glaciers, rugged mountains, and diverse wildlife. Potential landing sites and activities include:

We continue to explore the Antarctic Pensinsula.
With over 500 diverse landing sites along the Antarctic Peninsula, no two voyages are ever the same. Our expert team crafts each expedition day based on conditions, weather, and opportunities for the most remarkable encounters.
As passenger vessel traffic has increased in recent years, competition for landing sites has intensified—but our deep knowledge of this pristine region ensures you’ll embark on true exploratory journeys, venturing beyond the crowds.
As we finish up our time in the Peninsula, we get our last appreciation of magnificent wildlife and the experience that will last us a lifetime
Bid farewell to the Antarctic shores and begin the journey northward across the Drake Passage. Use this time to reflect on your experiences, share photos with fellow travelers, and attend additional lectures. Wildlife spotting continues, with chances to see seabirds and marine mammals.
We continue to head north towards Ushuaia, and hope to reach the calmness of the Beagle channel during the evening.
Arrive back in Ushuaia in the morning. After breakfast, disembark the Terra Nova Adventurer marking the end of your Antarctic adventure. From here, you may choose to extend your stay in Patagonia, explore other parts of Argentina, or begin your journey home.
